Following the Phoenix Gundam, the 'SDCS (SD CROSS SILHOUETTE)' assembly model series, released by BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division in Japan, which allows for free transformation between high and low head-to-body ratio frames, has officially announced that the previously teased latest product from the 'SD Gundam G Generation' series, the "Tornado Gundam", is scheduled for release in April 2023, with detailed product information now revealed.
The Tornado Gundam (Whirlwind Gundam), familiar to players of the 'SD Gundam G Generation' series, is an original game-exclusive Gundam mobile suit that first appeared in 'SD Gundam GX'. Its initial setting was an unknown mobile suit placed in a neutral production base, available for players to use once they captured the base. In later G Generation series, it became a default mobile suit available to players from the start of the game. This unit boasts decent performance and strong versatility, capable of operating in any terrain. In addition to armaments like beam rifles and beam sabers, its abdomen and wrists also conceal fixed weapons such as a diffuse mega particle cannon and Gatling guns, respectively.
The "SDCS Tornado Gundam" faithfully recreates its highly versatile design with numerous thrusters. The four balancing thrusters on its back can swing left and right. For weaponry, it includes a beam rifle and two beam sabers with connectable hilts. The Gatling guns concealed within its wrists can be reproduced in both stored and deployed states using interchangeable parts. The product also includes both the low-head-to-body ratio SD frame and the high-head-to-body ratio CS frame.
