Japanese company Aniplex (Aniplex Inc.) will release a new product, the "Lum" 1/7 Scale Figure, based on the classic remake anime "Urusei Yatsura". The suggested retail price is 19,800 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in January 2024.
Japanese veteran manga artist Rumiko Takahashi's first long-running serialized manga, "Urusei Yatsura" (formerly translated in Taiwan as "Fukusei Yatsura"), begins with the story of the alien Oni girl "Lum" invading Japan and attempting to conquer Earth. Ataru Moroboshi, a lecherous young man plagued by bad luck, is forced to take on the great responsibility of saving Earth, engaging in a game of tag with Lum! Due to an accidental misunderstanding, Lum falls in love with Ataru, who unexpectedly wins, and thus begins their hilarious and absurd romantic comedy. To commemorate Shogakukan's 100th anniversary, the work was adapted into a TV anime again after 36 years, with a remake version of "Urusei Yatsura" released in 2022.
The Aniplex "Lum" 1/7 Scale Figure stands approximately 23 cm tall. Based on the design from the remake anime, it recreates Lum's light posture and her turning-back glance. The large areas of exposed skin are painted with a soft and translucent finish, complemented by her flowing hair with unique gradients and a base adorned with scattered stars, showcasing Lum's youthful and lively cuteness~
