Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya recently revealed the latest information regarding new products in the popular plastic model series "Megami Device", which combines colorful mechanical equipment with highly articulated bishoujo bodies. These new products, the "X Series (tentative name)", are made with the brand-new body "BLOCK2", developed by sculptor Masaki Apsy, and pre-orders are expected to open within 2023.

"BLOCK2", developed by sculptor Masaki Apsy, is a brand-new body designed to improve upon various issues found in the current "Machineca" bodies used in the Megami Device series. However, its overall structure is completely different from Machineca, and parts are almost entirely non-interchangeable. The biggest innovation of BLOCK2 lies in its independent articulated frame structure. By using a common frame and attaching different skin designs or even clothing parts, it breaks the conventional impression of only changing the exterior while the core remains the same. This allows the body's proportions to change along with the new equipment, enabling collaborating illustrators to unleash more diverse creativity without being limited by a fixed body.

The first products made with the "BLOCK2" body are currently tentatively named the "X Series". This series is currently planned to feature four characters: Gunner, Knight, Tank, and Paladin. In their unarmored body state, they are school-style bishoujo girls wearing ultra-short sailor uniforms. When armored, they feature various armor and weapons corresponding to their respective names, such as swords, handguns, and cannons. The most distinctive feature of these armaments is the presence of numerous, high-density 3mm standard circular holes, allowing for customization using M.S.G or other Kotobukiya plastic model kits, offering excellent expandability.

Although most parts of the "BLOCK2" body are not interchangeable with "Machineca", it would be a great pity if the meticulously designed, versatile face parts could not be used. Therefore, Kotobukiya has also developed a face part adapter set for BLOCK2, the "Megami Device M.S.G Face Set", which allows the hair parts of the X Series to combine with existing face parts and adapter parts.
