Taiwanese designer Ethan's local brand "STUDIO SUNDOWNER" has announced the release of its latest 7th installment, "Future Zodiac Series 7th Release - Armageddon Atman (Shura)", with pre-orders scheduled to open on January 18, 2023, on the STUDIO SUNDOWNER official website.
STUDIO SUNDOWNER's original series, "Future Zodiac", is conceived by STUDIO SUNDOWNER Design Director Ethan Chiang, drawing inspiration from the twelve Chinese zodiac animals. The story background combines mythological, religious, and sci-fi elements to create a fictional future world.
The latest work in the series, "Armageddon Atman - Shura" 1/6 scale collectible action figure, stands approximately 31 cm tall, featuring 32 points of articulation throughout the body. The designer drew creative inspiration from the Hannya mask in traditional Japanese Noh art. Details such as the fabric-stitched camouflage vest and shorts are meticulously crafted. Accessories include the weapon Oni Kanabo, three sets of interchangeable hands, two sets of head visors, two sets of knee armor replacement parts, two sets of foot replacement parts, and head sculpt styling parts. With these abundant interchangeable accessories, various looks can be achieved. Additionally, the mechanical skull Hannya head sculpt will be sold separately as an accessory pack, allowing collectors to create their own "Armageddon Atman" styles.
New Chapter:
After the Third World War, human civilization was reborn from a nuclear catastrophe, with only one-thousandth of the original global population remaining. A vast number of souls, unable to reincarnate, wander between the mortal realm and the spirit world. Powerful spiritual entities, driven by strong desires, reappear in the world by possessing humans, animals, or machines, and are known as "Armageddon Atman". Their unstable, berserk forms have become the most terrifying disaster in the post-apocalyptic era.
In the year 0143 of the Genesis Calendar (2250 AD), Dr. Miles Baker of the Human Revival Oversight Bureau confirmed the existence of hyper-spiritual entities. Collaborating with psychic organizations, he developed spirit-channeling technology to convert spiritual entities into stable energy. Simultaneously, using high-polymer and micro-mechanical cell technology, the "Alaya-Vijnana Mecha" was created. Psychic organizations perform spirit-channeling rituals to summon spiritual entities, which become the most powerful weapons against the Armageddon Atman. The powerful spiritual entities summoned through these rituals are the twelve Divine Generals...
Historically, various cultures have documented the Twelve Divine Generals, though they were recorded under different names and forms at the time. It wasn't until the world's destruction and the significant upheaval faced by human civilization that scientists, combining the latest science with spirit-channeling technology, truly brought the Twelve Divine Generals back into the world. When a spiritual entity possesses an Alaya-Vijnana Mecha, it reflects the entity's form. The twelve Divine Generals appear in the forms of the twelve zodiac animals, possessing emotions like joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness, just like humans. By possessing the Alaya-Vijnana Mecha, they can maximize their abilities in the mortal realm, and each Divine General possesses their own guardian artifact.
The twelve Yaksha Generals, also translatable as Yakshas, possess varied temperaments; some are fiercely malevolent, while others are kind and gentle. These twelve are leaders, hence called Generals, and each has seven thousand attendants, totaling eighty-four thousand Dharma attendants. The twelve Yakshas are divided into the twelve Earthly Branches or the twelve Chinese zodiac animals, and they take turns guarding the world during the twelve hours of day and night, the four seasons, and the twelve months. -----Ancient Text Records
