Issued by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, the 'S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou)' series, which sculpts from the skeletal structure to recreate the physique of tokusatsu hero actors, recently announced its first product based on Toei's Tokusatsu Super Sentai series. This latest item, 'Gokaired,' from 'Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger,' is scheduled for release in June 2023.
The 35th installment in the Super Sentai series, 'Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger,' differs from previous series by integrating the stories of the past 34 Sentai teams into a single worldview. Although the protagonists are space pirates who came to Earth in search of treasure, they also inherited the Sentai name and powers to help protect Earth. The Gokaigers were also the first special existence capable of freely transforming into past warriors. Not only did it boast a grand narrative scope, but its interactions with past Sentai members were also highly praised.
The product being commercialized this time is 'Gokaired,' transformed by Captain Marvelous. Utilizing 3D scanning technology, the physique of suit actor Hirofumi Fukuzawa from the show has been digitized and re-sculpted to perfectly replicate Gokaired's on-screen appearance. The helmet and jacket, which incorporate pirate elements, are meticulously reproduced. Each joint features precise articulation splits and flexible movable designs. Accessories will include the transformation device, the Gokai Cellular, in both open and closed states, 3 Ranger Keys, and weapons such as the Gokai Saber and Gokai Gun. By swapping parts, scenes of transforming into other warriors can be recreated. The Gokai Saber and Gokai Gun also feature movable mechanisms to replicate their special attack poses!
