Japanese toy company Kotobukiya's Shunya Yamashita BISHOUJO figure brand, in collaboration with Hasbro and Takara Tomy, presents the "TRANSFORMERS BISHOUJO" series. Following "Optimus Prime" and "Megatron," the latest third installment, "Bumblebee," a 1/7 scale PVC pre-painted figure, is set to appear! With a suggested retail price of 17,600 JPY, it is scheduled for release in August 2023.
Illustrator "Shunya Yamashita (山下しゅんや)," renowned for combining popular elements with his personal style to depict feminine charm, enjoys high popularity both in Japan and internationally, actively contributing to illustration design and original artwork for games and toy figures. His BISHOUJO characters exude a unique blend of cuteness and sexiness, reinterpreting character styles with different appearances and radiating an ineffable charm.
Based on Shunya Yamashita's illustrations, the "TRANSFORMERS BISHOUJO Bumblebee" 1/7 scale PVC pre-painted figure, transforming a tough machine into a beautiful girl, measures approximately 217mm in height. Its design is inspired by the incredibly nostalgic original "Transformers" G1 cartoon, injecting the peace-loving characteristics of Bumblebee into it. The entire figure features his characteristic yellow, designed as a playful hoodie, with his distinctive horns cleverly recreated on her head. Paired with a light blue belt and inner lining, it reproduces Bumblebee's robot mode color scheme. The overall effect is like a cute version of Bumblebee!
Her pretty yellow short hair, slender waist, and the charming armpits revealed by her vest are all incredibly mischievous and cute! The arm sleeves and short shorts are cleverly transformed, while details like the grey bubble socks and cool sneakers create an interesting contrast! The Autobot logo base is finished with a dazzling metallic paint, making it even more impactful when displayed alongside Optimus Prime~
