Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company's collector's toy division TAMASHII NATIONS' popular alloy toy METAL BUILD's new spin-off series『METAL BUILD DRAGON SCALE』recently officially announced the latest product "Shin Getter 1" from "Getter Robo Armageddon", scheduled for release in June 2023.
『METAL BUILD DRAGON SCALE』continues the MB series' characteristics such as "alloy parts combined with a heavy, substantial paint finish" and "reinterpreting styling to match the character," while adding new designs like "dragon scale-like movable exterior armor" and "internal structures housing a soul." This release of Shin Getter 1 not only reinterprets the in-show design with MB style but also integrates design features of Shin Getter 2 and Shin Getter 3 into its exterior and interior armor. This includes the internal shoulder structure, back, and the drill on the Getter Tomahawk, which represent Shin Getter 2's features. Furthermore, by detaching the calf armor, hidden Shin Getter 3 features can be found, achieving a unique trinity design!
The "METAL BUILD DRAGON SCALE Shin Getter 1" has an overall maximum height of approximately 45 cm (including wings). Many joint parts throughout the body are made of alloy material, offering both strength and a sense of weight. The green armor, where Getter Rays emanate, is rendered with clear green parts, revealing the intricate mechanical internal structure. The entire Shin Getter 1's armor design possesses a profound sense of heft.
Furthermore, some armor around the joints is designed with an interlocking mechanism, allowing it to slide like muscles as the joints articulate. The new shoulder joint design particularly emphasizes the posture of the back expanding and chest contracting when the arms bend forward, allowing for dynamic and powerful poses. The highly mechanical and sharp wings are also composed of three layers of parts, and when deployed, they can be raised significantly upwards, achieving an impressive total height of 45 cm.
The weapon accessories this time are quite generous. The signature Getter Tomahawk features a brand-new original three-stage transformation mechanism, allowing it to recreate tomahawk, halberd, and scythe forms through the transformation of its blade parts. The Getter Arm Blades on both wrists can be transformed into extended large blades by replacing parts. Additionally, there are various beam effect parts with pearl and gradient paint finishes, capable of recreating the head Getter Beam, abdominal Getter Beam, and the incredibly powerful special move "Getter Stoner Sunshine"!
