Japanese sculptor GRIZZRYPANDA, active in three-dimensional modeling events, recently officially announced that they have acquired the one-day license for the "Evangelion" series and will release their latest GK model kits, "Neon Genesis Evangelion Prototype: Asuka / Prototype: Rei Articulated Figures," at 'Wonder Festival 2023 Winter', held on February 12, 2023.
The Asuka and Rei figures released this time are based on their appearances in the TV anime "Neon Genesis Evangelion," featuring unique body proportions and highly flexible articulated bodies. In addition to their alluring curves, they can be posed in a wide variety of actions. They can also be combined with backpack-style armaments inspired by the biological structures of EVA Unit-00 and Unit-02, and interchangeable facial expression parts with mischievous smiles, allowing for poses that deviate from their original depictions.
The most significant feature of these GK model kits is the use of GRIZZRYPANDA's original articulated frame design for the joints. This articulated frame adopts the common runner design seen in regular plastic model kits, with metal molds commissioned from a factory for injection molding. Once the parts are assembled into the articulated frame, they can be combined with the exterior parts of the GK kit to complete Asuka and Rei.
