American toy manufacturer McFarlane Toys' "DC Retro" series today (10th) unveiled several new Target-exclusive products from the 1966 classic TV series version of "Batman" (Batman 66'). This article will focus on the vehicle category: the "Batboat"! It is scheduled for release on April 16, 2023.
The "DC Retro" series is known for its excellent sculpt accuracy and highly accessible pricing, and it was met with enthusiastic reception from toy collectors who love the retro 1966 Batman upon its launch! While this three-dimensional Batboat is not as iconic as the 1966 Batmobile, it did appear in the second and third seasons of the series. The prop boat used for filming was manufactured by the American shipbuilding company Glastron. This three-dimensional Batboat vehicle measures approximately 30 cm in length, recreating its stylish design and blue, white, and red main color scheme. The flame patterns on both sides of the hull and the Bat-symbol at the stern are faithfully reproduced. However, the details of the cockpit are somewhat average, but it looks absolutely fantastic once you place the Batman and Robin (sold separately) figures inside!
