Japanese figure manufacturer Good Smile Company today announced the highly anticipated "Marin Kitagawa" from "My Dress-Up Darling" will be joining their "Nendoroid Doll" series, with an expected release in November 2023.
The "Nendoroid Doll" series combines the vast character lineup of the "Nendoroid" series with the features of an articulated doll body. It utilizes flexible ball joints for the shoulders and hips, and adds articulation to the chest, waist, and feet, significantly enhancing poseability. The head-to-body ratio is taller and more slender than standard Nendoroids, while the head itself maintains the same interchangeable specifications as regular Nendoroid products. Furthermore, the outfits are designed as removable fabric clothing, allowing you to dress your favorite Nendoroid Doll characters in costumes from other series or Good Smile Company's original outfits!
True to its "dress-up doll" nature, the "Nendoroid Doll Marin Kitagawa" faithfully recreates Marin's gyaru-style makeup, hair, and accessories like earrings, rings, and bracelets in its chibi form. It also includes a face plate showcasing her iconic smile and a peace sign hand part. The skin tone features a unique color molding, distinct from the standard Nendoroid Doll bodies. Both the feet and base incorporate magnets, enhancing stability and allowing for natural posing.
The most crucial aspect, the outfit, meticulously recreates her memorable school uniform using fabric materials. It faithfully reproduces details like the tie on her shirt, the plaid pattern on her skirt, and even the two colors of her underwear. This outfit will also be available for separate purchase. Every piece, from the top, skirt, underwear, accessories, socks, and shoes, is designed to be removable, offering high degrees of freedom and expandability to dress Marin in various Nendoroid Doll outfits!
