Japanese toy brand "16 directions" (Japanese: ジュウロクホウイ, meaning "16 directions," usually abbreviated as 16d), which primarily releases soft vinyl figures of professional wrestlers, is scheduled to release a soft vinyl figure of the famous Japanese professional wrestler "Keiji Muto" in July 2023!
For wrestling fans, Keiji Muto is undoubtedly a legendary figure. Debuting in 1984 and retiring only in 2022, he spent over thirty years in the wrestling ring, creating many classic moments and fighting countless memorable matches. "Fighting Spirit Three Musketeers," "Great Muta," "Kokushi Muso," "Moonsault," "Shining Wizard" – too many terms are associated with him. Muto's titles are also countless: IWGP, Triple Crown, NWA, GHC. Despite his advanced age and long-standing injuries, he always managed to set an insurmountable challenge for younger wrestlers. Titles like "Genius," "Pro Wrestling Master," and "The Magician Beyond Genius" are truly fitting for him.
This 16d soft vinyl figure, numbered 028, primarily references Keiji Muto's bald look from 2000 onwards. The pose is inspired by his signature "Pro Wrestle Love!!" (プロレスLOVE) stance, which he strikes every time he enters the ring. This can be said to be his most iconic personal signature move. His expression, the patterns on his pants, and the "Love Pro Wrestling" graphics are all faithfully reproduced. Fans of Muto should definitely check it out.
