Japanese gashapon toy manufacturer Kitan Club (キタンクラブ) has partnered with Taiwan's RBen Studio to release the "Chubby Animals" (アニマルフィギュアマスコット) series. Following the first series and second series, the latest third series is set to be released in June 2023! Let's see which animals have joined the "grandma-fed" lineup this time.
"Chubby as a ball" and "lovably plump" are probably the most apt descriptions for most of RBen Studio's animal creations. Animal sculptor "Huang Bo-xiang" excels at reinterpreting various animals with a two-head body proportion and a round, plump physique, allowing each animal to retain realistic details while showcasing a humorous charm! This third series features four collectible types: "Sloth," "Himalayan Red Panda," "Giraffe," and "Tiger." It's worth noting that the giraffe, which Huang Bo-xiang originally wanted to produce but was delayed due to production cost considerations, finally makes its appearance this time. Not only does it boast an impressive presence at 7.4 cm tall, but the proportions of its neck and legs are also incredibly cute, and its expression is sure to bring a smile to your face.
The designs of the other three animals are equally endearing: the tiger's pink paw pads and short legs, the red panda's plump tail and round belly, and the sloth's robust physique and detailed depiction of its dense fur... all are fantastic. I'm really looking forward to how they feel in hand.
