Renowned poster design and toy company MONDO is releasing a new addition to its "Masters of the Universe" 1/6 scale collectible figure series! This time, it's the turn of one of the main villain Skeletor's henchmen, "Trap Jaw," to make his debut. Pre-orders will open for a limited 48-hour window on March 7, 2023, at 12:00 PM (CT) on the MONDO official website.
In the "Masters of the Universe" story, Trap Jaw and Beast Man are both henchmen of the main villain Skeletor. However, when it comes to these two characters, what toy collectors might remember most isn't their evil deeds, but rather their comical appearances whenever they made mistakes and were scolded by Skeletor, or easily knocked away by He-Man. But this time, the Trap Jaw figure, redesigned by Florian Bertmer and infused with realistic elements, looks truly fierce and powerful! In addition to his classic mechanical jaw, helmet, and mechanical arm, the design allowing for multiple interchangeable weapons to be attached to his mechanical arm greatly enhances the figure's playability.
Richard Force and Tommy Hodges, who were responsible for the sculpting, put in a great deal of effort. While retaining Trap Jaw's iconic color scheme and design features, they meticulously carved out the armor's textures, created the hydraulic tubes on the mechanical arm, and applied weathering effects throughout the body, making the overall figure more impactful and realistic. Accessories include multiple head sculpts, interchangeable hands, and weapons. Die-hard Masters of the Universe fans can also use the interchangeable head and arm to recreate Trap Jaw's former identity – the blue-skinned villain "Kronis."
