Kotobukiya Officially Announces New Original Model Kit Series "Megalomaria"

Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya (KOTOBUKIYA) has officially announced its brand-new original model kit series 『Megalomaria』, showcasing multiple prototypes currently under development, with releases slated to begin sequentially in 2024.

Whether it was 『Frame Arms Girl』, 『Megami Device』, or 『Hexa Gear』, Kotobukiya's past products have almost entirely relied on factories located in China for production. However, the newly launched 『Megalomaria』 is Kotobukiya's first product line to be primarily manufactured in factories within Japan. This series boasts a unique, composite worldview that connects to various model kit series previously released by Kotobukiya, signifying that it is designed with interoperability with other series in mind. This echoes the "Infinite Encounters" in its name, allowing for an infinite variety of play possibilities.

The currently revealed articulated figure character is named 「ANOTHER」, a puppet-like doll body seemingly composed of machinery. The female-type ANOTHER stands approximately 16 cm tall, while the male-type stands approximately 18 cm tall. Its overall articulation design is the culmination of ten years of 『M.S.G』, 『Hexa Gear』, and 『Sousai Shojo Teien』. Breaking free from the limitations of traditional human forms, it boldly utilizes mechanical ball-jointed hip joints and multi-jointed mechanisms, achieving natural yet more dramatic posing expressions.

Furthermore, the female-type ANOTHER can interchange head, expression, and hair parts with most characters from 『Sousai Shojo Teien』 (excluding Aoi Gennai and Bukiko Kotobuki), allowing for the creation of a wide variety of original designs. In addition to ANOTHER, "TRIGGER" characters, resembling those from other series, are also planned for future release, though detailed settings have not yet been revealed.
