Hong Kong's renowned collectible figure brand "threezero", under its articulated figure product line "FigZero", is set to release a 1/6 scale articulated figure of the villainous character "Cobra Commander" from the classic American animated series and comic book franchise "G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero" in the first quarter of 2024! The price will be HKD 1,180.
We believe that seasoned collectors are certainly no strangers to "G.I. JOE". This franchise originated as 12-inch military articulated figures produced by American toy manufacturer Hasbro in 1964. Later, in 1982, the 3.75-inch "A Real American Hero" series was launched, complete with a backstory, transforming it into a sci-fi military product line featuring a conflict between opposing factions. An animated version was subsequently released in 1983, which was broadcast in Taiwan by CTV in 1986 under the name "A Real American Hero". Both the Joes (anti-crime assault team) and Cobra factions featured highly popular characters. Later, a movie version was also released, known in Taiwan as "Special Forces" (特種部隊). Furthermore, G.I. JOE-related internet memes also enjoyed a period of popularity.
This FigZero S Cobra Commander figure from threezero is rendered in 1/6 scale, standing impressively tall at over 30 cm. It faithfully recreates Cobra Commander's standard appearance, including his most iconic full silver masked helmet, the dark blue military uniform with the Cobra emblem on the left chest, a removable cape, black leather gloves and boots, a belt, and his sidearm, all meticulously reproduced. For accessories, in addition to a pistol and a dagger, it also includes the Cobra Scepter, symbolizing his supreme authority, and two extra sets of interchangeable hand parts.
