Released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., the "S.H.MonsterArts" series, which combines exquisite monster sculpting with excellent articulation technology, will launch its latest "Monster Hunter" themed product, "Tigrex" (轟龍 迪加雷克斯). The suggested retail price is 16,500 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in January 2024.
Tigrex (轟龍 迪加雷克斯) is a Flying Wyvern monster that first appeared in "Monster Hunter Portable 2nd". Its temperament is extremely ferocious. Upon spotting an enemy or prey, it will crouch on all fours and activate its "locomotive mode," charging at its target at speeds exceeding 50km/h, delivering unexpected tackles and tail whips. Its internal organ, the "Great Roar Sac," can transform its roars into highly destructive shockwaves. Due to the loud and intense roars it emits, it earned the moniker "Roaring Wyvern" (轟龍).
The "S.H.MonsterArts Tigrex" recreates Tigrex's imposing form with an impressive overall length of approximately 30 cm. Utilizing ABS material, it faithfully reproduces the sharp claws, fangs, and scales across its entire body with high-density detail. Special attention has been paid to the articulation range in the neck, body, tail, and shoulders, allowing fans to enjoy Tigrex's characteristic poses. With the included interchangeable parts, it can recreate states such as folded wings and its enraged form. Additionally, an unpainted hunter mini-figure is included, allowing veteran players to recreate the cover scene from "Monster Hunter Portable 2nd"~
