From Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company HOBBY Division, the Gunpla series 'MG (Master Grade)', known for its complete part separation and full internal frame, today announced the latest product from the manga "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Glory of the Losers", the "MG 1/100 Gundam Epyon EW (Sturm und Drang Equipment)", scheduled for release in December 2023. This product will be sold exclusively on Bandai's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
The OZ-13MS Gundam Epyon is a transformable mobile suit secretly developed by former OZ Supreme Commander Treize Khushrenada during his dismissal and confinement, based on data from the Tallgeese and the five Gundams. In contrast to other weapons designed for slaughter and victory, this machine's design reflects Treize's chivalrous spirit and beliefs. Its armaments are limited to close-combat weapons suitable for duels, such as a beam sword, a shield equipped with a heat rod, and twin arm claws. It boasts excellent mobility, a "Twin Dragon" flight mode transformation mechanism, and also features the "Epyon System", which is analogous to the Wing Gundam Zero's "Zero System", making its performance top-tier in the series.
The "Sturm und Drang Equipment" released this time originates from the manga version "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Glory of the Losers", and is new equipment that continues the settings from the OVA "Endless Waltz". The MG kit is a modification of the previously released Gundam Epyon EW. The main body is also supervised by mechanical designer KATOKI HAJIME, faithfully recreating the sharp, devil-like red and black armor and the "Twin Dragon" flight mode transformation mechanism, while the Sturm und Drang Equipment is produced with completely new parts.
The Sturm und Drang Equipment is an armament mounted on both arms, forming an offensive and defensive unit composed of wing-shaped shields and cables connected below them. The cable parts are made of bendable metal wire. The two shields feature movable mechanisms and include two sizes of beam sword effect parts, allowing for the recreation of the "Defender Mode" which thoroughly defends against twin buster rifles, and the "Greatsword Mode" which can cleave a space fortress in two with a super-sized beam sword.
