MEGAHOUSE, a Japanese model manufacturer, recently showcased the development prototype of its latest product, the "Zeon Army Space Mobile Artillery SKIURE" from Mobile Suit Gundam, at the 'MEGAHOBBY EXPO 2023' new model exhibition. This marks the first public display of the item from the 'MACHINE BUILD' series, which features semi-finished models that recreate internal structures. The release date is yet to be determined.
In contrast to the mobile beam cannon used by the Earth Federation Forces, the Zeon Army's space mobile artillery, the "SKIURE (スキウレ)", is also a support mechanism originating from the MS-X model project. The MEGA Particle Cannon, originally used in the mobile armor MA-05 Bigro, was redesigned to a specification that allows mobile suits to operate its trigger. This weapon is mounted on a space-use platform equipped with fuel tanks and thrusters, thereby enhancing the mobility range and firepower of mobile suits like the Zaku during space combat.
The "MACHINE BUILD SKIURE" is crafted to a size that allows 1/144 scale Gunpla to be mounted. It meticulously recreates details such as the cannon barrel, sights, trigger, control levers, and multi-directional nozzles on the platform, faithfully reproducing the design from the original concept art.
