From Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company's collector's toy division TAMASHII NATIONS, the popular action figure series 'S.H.Figuarts', following 2B, recently announced its latest product from the anime 'NieR:Automata Ver1.1a', the '9S (YoRHa No.9 Type S)', slated for release in February 2024.
One of the three protagonists, 'YoRHa No.9 Type S', commonly known as 9S. Unlike combat-type androids such as 2B and A2, the S-type 9S is less adept at direct combat, instead attacking enemies and supporting allies through scanning, hacking, and other means. He is often dispatched to Earth alone for reconnaissance missions. 9S is fascinated by human culture and emotions, making him one of the few emotionally rich androids in the YoRHa squad. He appears as a naive, gentle boy, but is also quite vulnerable. He harbors a profound special affection for 2B, and once had thoughts of wanting to △※2B. If he were to lose that partner, who is almost his reason for existence, he would surely go mad to the point of not caring if the world were destroyed...?
The 'S.H.Figuarts 9S' is sculpted based on the anime version's character design, meticulously reproducing details such as the embroidery and metal buckles on his black outfit through intricate sculpting and painting. It features flexible articulation in the neck, waist, and limbs, and can be posed in various scenes with 4 interchangeable face parts, 8 interchangeable hand parts, as well as accessories like the Pod 153 and the weapon 'Cruel Oath'!
