The popular action figure series "S.H.Figuarts," released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectible toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company, is set to feature Japan's comedy king Ken Shimura. They will release the classic character from "Shimura's Great Laughter" – that bizarre, balding man with a Mediterranean hairline, bluish stubble, exposed nose hair, and wearing strange pink patterned underwear... That's right! It's the Henna Ojisan (Strange Uncle) — "S.H.Figuarts Ken Shimura's Henna Ojisan" is born!!
"Strange~ Uncle~ I am the Strange Uncle~♪"
Japan's heavyweight comedy legend, Ken Shimura (志村けん), created many popular characters in the "Shimura's Great Laughter" program, which began airing in 1986. Among them, the most iconic is "Henna Ojisan (変なおじさん)." Not only does he sport a shocking large black mole, a drunkard's red nose, and other peculiar features, but Henna Ojisan's whereabouts are also extremely bizarre; he suddenly appears in various unbelievable locations! He harasses women in an exaggerated manner, and after the victimized women call for help, Henna Ojisan openly admits: "I am the Strange Uncle!" He then begins to sing "Strange Uncle~ I am the Strange Uncle~♪." His classic image, peculiar Japanese accent, and dance made Henna Ojisan famous from Japan to the world.
"S.H.Figuarts Ken Shimura's Henna Ojisan" is crafted with TAMASHII NATIONS' latest brand technology, resulting in a highly realistic, fully articulated action figure approximately 142 mm tall. It faithfully reproduces Ken Shimura's portrayal of the Henna Ojisan! Included are two interchangeable head parts, offering a total of three highly realistic and vivid expressions. These can recreate "That's right! I am the Strange Uncle (そうです、私が変なおじさんです)," "Daffunda!!," and "A-i-n," perfectly capturing Henna Ojisan's various classic hilarious expressions!
The main body also meticulously sculpts and restores Henna Ojisan's lewd, slightly hunched posture and signature costume. Even the details on the back of the purple haramaki (belly band) and the leg hair are completely reproduced! Finally, combined with S.H.Figuarts' flexible articulation and two left-hand and four right-hand interchangeable parts, whether it's "A-i-n" or Henna Ojisan's signature dance, all of his memorable poses can be perfectly recreated. This is absolutely worth collecting for all toy enthusiasts who have been made to burst into laughter by Ken Shimura!
