PLEX Co., Ltd. of Japan, produced and X-PLUS Co., Ltd. released, the "FAVORITE SCULPTORS LINE", which commercializes GK models made by renowned sculptors into finished products, announced the latest product from "Godzilla vs. Destoroyah", "Burning Godzilla (1995)", is scheduled for release in February 2024. This product will be exclusively sold through X-PLUS's official channel "Shonen RIC" and the official Godzilla store "GODZILLA STORE".
This product is based on the new GK model of Godzilla (1995) unveiled in the summer of 2023 by renowned Japanese sculptor Yuuki Ohtaka (KOKURYU KOUBOU). It boasts an impressive size of approximately 32 cm in height and 60 cm in length, meticulously depicting the rough, bumpy texture of its entire body and its extremely robust, massive physique. Its fierce countenance conveys the rage of losing its kin as seen in the film, while also featuring highly realistic details such as the mouth, sharp teeth, and tongue. When the original GK model was released, it came in two versions: resin original color and clear + original color, allowing for the creation of either the regular version or the Burning version with uncontrolled nuclear energy within its body.
The "FAVORITE SCULPTORS LINE Burning Godzilla (1995)" utilizes the same prototype as the GK model, not only maintaining its impressive overall size but also employing various materials such as POLYSTONE, PUR, and PVC to meticulously recreate the intricate and sharp details of the sculpt. For transparent parts like the body and dorsal fins, a technique of silver painting on the inside and transparent orange painting on the outside is used, leveraging the reflection from the silver painted surface to achieve a glowing effect.
Furthermore, multiple areas within Godzilla's body conceal LED lighting mechanisms not present in the GK version. By powering it with the included USB Type-C cable, parts such as the dorsal fins, chest, abdomen, and thighs will emit a fiery orange-red glow, recreating its intensely high-temperature appearance from the film!
