Bandai's Gashapon brand, known for its popular "ULTIMATE LUMINOUS" series which emphasizes ultimate sculpting and ultimate luminescence, has announced the latest product from Tsuburaya Productions' special effects series "Ultraseven": the "King Joe". It has a reference price of 8,000 JPY and is scheduled for release in March 2024.
The classic Tsuburaya Productions special effects drama "Ultraseven (ウルトラセブン)", which aired in 1967, depicts "Observer 340", an alien whose true identity is Dan Moroboshi, disguising himself as a human to combat alien invaders. He serves as a member of the Japanese special forces "Ultra Guard", tasked with defending Earth. Whenever Earth faces a crisis, he transforms into Ultraseven to engage in fierce battles with invading space monsters.
The "ULTIMATE LUMINOUS King Joe" reappears, themed after the antagonist space robot "King Joe" that appeared in episodes 14, "Ultra Guard Goes West (Part 1)", and 15, "Ultra Guard Goes West (Part 2)" of the series! In addition to faithfully recreating the alloy armor design crafted from special metal and details like the screws on its head, the transparent parts on its head and chest feature built-in flashing light effects, replicating its appearance in the show. Furthermore, its operational sound effects have also been recorded. It also includes interchangeable arm parts, allowing for various poses~
