TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., which issues the "S.H.MonsterArts" series combining exquisite monster sculpting with excellent articulation technology, recently announced the latest product from the movie "Godzilla vs. Megalon," "Jet Jaguar (1973)," scheduled for release in June 2024.
Jet Jaguar, who appeared in the 1973 film "Godzilla vs. Megalon," is a humanoid all-purpose robot developed by the young electronics engineer Goro Ibuki. It is equipped with artificial intelligence and a program called the "Conscience Circuit," allowing it to communicate politely and appropriately with humans. Jet Jaguar was originally developed to assist humans in their daily lives, but when a sense of justice awakened within its circuits, it gained self-awareness and the ability to grow to 50 meters tall, joining forces with Godzilla to fight against Megalon and Gigan, who were controlled by the Seatopian Kingdom.
The "S.H.MonsterArts Jet Jaguar (1973)" is sculpted as an articulated figure with a total height of approximately 16 cm. Based on extensive data, it faithfully reproduces the suit's design and colors used in 1973, featuring vibrant red, yellow, blue, and silver paint applications and the characteristic emblem on its waist. The arm and leg joints, among others, feature precise part separation, allowing it to maintain its sculptural integrity while offering flexible articulation, enabling more dynamic poses than seen in the film.
Accessories include multiple interchangeable hand parts, a proportionally scaled Jet Jaguar figure from before its giant transformation, and by swapping parts, you can even recreate the state where its eyes emit blue light and its flying form with antennas extended from its head!
