From Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, the "S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou)" series, which sculpts figures from the skeletal structure to imbue tokusatsu heroes with their inherent cool styling and natural articulation, recently announced the latest Kamen Rider series product, "Kamen Rider X," slated for release in October 2024.
In the series, protagonist Keisuke Jin is a university student with exceptional athletic ability. His father, Keitaro Jin, is a world authority in marine science and ergonomics. However, this outstanding talent caught the attention of the evil organization "GOD," which sought to destroy Japan and recruit him. Due to Keitaro Jin's refusal, both father and son were attacked. Severely wounded, Keitaro Jin, in his dying moments, transformed his near-dead son into a cyborg capable of withstanding the water pressure at 10,000 meters below sea level. Upon awakening, Keisuke Jin was heartbroken by his father's death and resolved to defeat the GOD organization as "Kamen Rider X."
The "S.H.Figuarts (Shinkocchou Seihou) Kamen Rider X" faithfully recreates the suit's appearance from the series with an articulated figure approximately 14.5 cm tall. It meticulously reproduces details such as the V-shaped antenna on X's helmet and the windmill at the center of his belt. The scarf, emblazoned with the "X" character, is made of fabric and contains a metal wire for poseability. The figure's physique and proportions are also more realistic, akin to the action actors in the show, and it features precise articulation divisions and joint designs, allowing for various combat poses and the ability to spread its limbs to form an "X" shape for jumping poses.
In addition to 6 pairs of interchangeable hands, the signature weapon "Ridol," drawn from the right side of the belt, also includes parts for its four forms: electromagnetic rod, rapier, chain, and long pole. The chain part is represented by a rope component with an embedded metal wire, allowing for the recreation of battle scenes utilizing each form from the series.
