The Ultraman-themed prop replica series "ULTRA REPLICA (ウルトラレプリカ)," released by Japan's BANDAI toy company, recently unveiled the "Eye Slugger" from "Ultraseven." Today (18th), another new item has been announced! It's the "Zero Slugger" (ゼロスラッガー) prop replica, commemorating Ultraman Zero's 15th anniversary! Pre-orders are now open on Premium Bandai, with shipping expected to begin in December 2024, at a suggested retail price of 13,200 JPY (tax included).
As the son of Ultraseven and a highly popular Ultraman in the new generation, "Ultraman Zero" first appeared in the 2009 movie "Mega Monster Battle Ultra Galaxy: The Movie." Not only did he inherit his father's boomerang combat prowess, but he also gained an additional slugger, becoming the first Ultraman to possess two head sluggers. The Zero Sluggers are equally sharp; they can be freely thrown, wielded in both hands for close-quarters combat, and even combined into a single giant scimitar for powerful slashes.
This set of two "ULTRA REPLICA Zero Sluggers," each approximately 36 cm in length, perfectly reproduces the sharp lines and imposing presence of the Zero Sluggers as seen in the show. Not only has the number of part divisions been significantly reduced, but a beautiful metallic silver coating has been applied, and the buttons are seamlessly integrated into the design, maximizing the faithful recreation of the Zero Sluggers' appearance! In addition to displaying them on the dedicated stand, playing with them accompanied by sound effects is also incredibly immersive. These two Zero Sluggers are equipped with "attack sound effects & dialogue" and "attack sound effects & BGM" respectively, including the iconic taunt "You're still 20,000 years too early!" and the theme song "Advance! Ultraman Zero! (すすめ! ウルトラマンゼロ!)"... and more.
