Hong Kong-based designer toy brand Unbox Industries recently announced an exciting new series that will thrill Japanese horror manga fans: jigsaw puzzles based on masterpieces by three legendary artists: Kazuo Umezz, Hideshi Hino, and Junji Ito! Each puzzle consists of 500 pieces and is now available for purchase on the Unbox official website, with a suggested retail price of US$25 per puzzle.
Unbox Industries, beloved by toy collectors for its high-quality soft vinyl toys, in addition to collaborating with an excellent roster of designers to create one popular soft vinyl figure after another, also consistently releases toys that, while perhaps niche to some, are sure to captivate dedicated fans. In the realm of horror manga themes, they have not only brought several characters from Junji Ito's works to life as figures, but also monsters like MY LOVELY MONSTER and KIBOJI (Ghost Mother) from Hideshi Hino's manga "Hell Little Boy" (Jigoku Kozou), and recently announced a soft vinyl figure of Sho Takamatsu, the protagonist from Kazuo Umezz's "The Drifting Classroom". Now, collectors will be able to gather these masterpieces by horror manga legends in jigsaw puzzle form!
The three puzzles in this series feature Kazuo Umezz's "Cat Eyed Boy" (Nekome Kozou), depicting the half-human, half-yokai protagonist "Cat Eyed Boy"; Hideshi Hino's "Horror Hell Baby" (Kyofu Jigoku Shoujo), featuring the demonic infant "Hell Baby"; and Junji Ito's "Uzumaki", showcasing the short-haired girl "Azami Kurotani" consumed by a spiral. Not only can you deeply appreciate the charm of these three masters' characters and the intricate brushwork during the puzzle-solving process, but the product packaging also boasts an exceptional design! They look fantastic when displayed.
