Issued by Japan's Bandai Shokugan division, BANDAI CANDY, and with mechanical designer Toshinao Miyauchi as product designer, the popular assembly model Shokugan series 'SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT ALTERNATIVE DESTINY' recently showcased a prototype of its latest work from the anime "Super Beast Machine God Dancouga," the "Dragon Battleship GUNDOR." Release date is TBD.

In the original story, the Dragon Battleship GUNDOR (ガンドール) was a decisive weapon secretly constructed by the Beast Machine Squadron to counter the Muge Zorbados Empire. It functioned as a base battleship, equipped with various powerful cannons, and featured a transformation mechanism into its combat mode, "Dragon Form," where it fired the powerful "GUNDOR Cannon" from its mouth like a flying dragon. It was originally intended to serve as a mobile base to transport Earth's counterattack forces to the Muge Empire's homeland, but due to unsuccessful power source development, its final energy output was only sufficient to successfully launch a single "Dancouga" unit.

This time, the "SMPAD Dragon Battleship GUNDOR" simultaneously showcased prototypes of both its Battleship Form and Dragon Form. Continuing the SMPAD series' style, it features highly dense and detailed sculpting, and its size is even larger than the "SMPAD Dancouga." In addition to its originally set transformation mechanism, Bandai has also teased that this unit has a hidden mechanism currently under development. Judging from its overall structure, it is highly likely to be an original combination mechanism with Dancouga, forming a reinforced state reminiscent of "Ultimate Dancouga."
