Issued by Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya, the popular assembly model series 'Megami Device', which combines colorful mechanical equipment with highly posable bishoujo bodies, today announced the latest product made with the next-generation new body, "BUSTER DOLL TANK MIDNIGHT FANG", scheduled for release in January 2025.
The 'BUSTER DOLL' series adopts the latest "Machineca Block2-M" posable body developed by sculptor Masaki Apsy. Compared to previous bodies, the part structure has been completely revamped and developed with a focus on significantly improving assembly convenience and expandability for interchangeable parts, while also enhancing the aesthetic beauty of the body lines. Its features include:
・Spherical neck joints of various sizes and lengths, compatible with multiple product specifications under Kotobukiya
・Achieves the series' first built-in movable frame structure, greatly enhancing part interchangeability
・Adopts integrated molding for leg exterior parts and a post-assembly design, reducing unsightly seams and facilitating painting and processing
・Adds 3mm peg weapon connection rings on both ears, shoulders, wrists, thighs, and calves
・Adopts a layered armor system, further subdividing the series' traditional body and armed modes into four modes: body, costume, light armor, and heavy armor
・Includes numerous hardpoint expansion parts, significantly enhancing weapon expandability
・Features a new dedicated stand with a movable support arm that has more articulation points to stably assist the main body's various poses
・Traditional PVC soft plastic hands have been changed to hard plastic material, with weapon-holding hands capable of accommodating both round and square weapon grips, allowing for easy fixation after inserting parts
The "BUSTER DOLL TANK MIDNIGHT FANG" released this time is an alternate color version of the previously released product "TANK", adopting the same night combat specification color scheme as the sister unit "GUNNER MIDNIGHT FANG", using dark blue, black, and orange molded colors to enhance concealment in night battle environments. In addition, the pre-painted face parts have been updated with three new expressions, and a newly designed dedicated stand is included for display. The body's limbs have also been replaced with a consistent skin tone, making the design adorably swimsuit-like.
Aside from the colors, the armed parts are essentially the same as the regular version, featuring heavy armor and cannons befitting the name "Tank". The quantity and assembly position of the armor can be freely adjusted to recreate a light armor mode equipped with only four cannons, or a heavy armor mode where the entire body is almost completely covered. Leveraging the powerful articulation of the "Machineca Block2-M" body, cool battle poses can be achieved.
