Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS has announced a new "《Godzilla Minus One》" themed product for its "S.H.MonsterArts" series, which combines exquisite monster sculpting with excellent articulation technology. This "Godzilla (2023) Heat Ray Ver." action figure will be exclusively available at the "TAMASHII NATIONS 2024" Akihabara exhibition in November, with a reference price of 17,600 JPY!
《Godzilla Minus One》 is Toho's 33rd Godzilla film, the 5th of the Reiwa era, and commemorates Godzilla's 70th anniversary. The story returns to post-WWII Japan, recreating the destruction caused by this nuclear behemoth to the human world and depicting how people in the aftermath face the renewed colossal catastrophe. The exciting story, which returns to the original setting, has been loved by fans, and the stunning visual effects, created by a special effects team of only 35 people, allowed 《Godzilla Minus One》 to defeat Hollywood blockbusters like Marvel and Mission: Impossible to win the Best Visual Effects award at the 96th Academy Awards!
This limited edition "Godzilla (2023) Heat Ray Ver." stands approximately 16 cm tall. It utilizes 3D data from the film, with renowned monster sculptor Yuji Sakai handling the prototype design, coloring, and sculpting. It is painted to depict the dorsal fins, eyes, and mouth emitting a strong blue light, ready to unleash its heat ray, brimming with energy. Coupled with the included heat ray effect part, it can recreate its god-of-destruction-like appearance when annihilating Ginza!
Additionally, the accessories include a small model of the Shin'en fighter jet piloted by Shikishima, which can be displayed with Godzilla to recreate the exhilarating scene from the film's climax!
