BANDAI CANDY, the Shokugan division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has officially announced detailed information for the latest product from the popular 'SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT' series, based on "Brave Police J-Decker": "Duke Fire". It is scheduled for release in December 2024.
Knight Detective Duke is an ambulance-type Brave Robot developed through a collaboration between the UK and Japan, thus possessing the personality of an English gentleman who highly values chivalry. In addition to transforming from ambulance mode into robot mode for combat, he can also combine with the fire truck-type large support machine "Fire Loader" to form the giant robot "Duke Fire," possessing multiple functions including combat, rescue, and firefighting.
Considering the numerous limitations and influences of the combination mechanism, the design of "SMP Duke Fire" places special emphasis on "proportion and articulation in standalone mode" and "proportion and articulation during grand combination." As the core machine's sub-leader, "Duke" can transform from ambulance mode into robot mode and comes with accessories such as a revolver hand, police notebook, and a double-edged long sword. Due to the necessity of accommodating both the transformation mechanism and the combined "Duke Fire" form, the physique cannot be as perfectly proportioned as in the anime.
The support machine "Fire Loader" features a substantial design, with its ladder section possessing an extendable mechanism that can nearly double its length. After disassembling and transforming its various parts, it can combine with Duke to form "Duke Fire," boasting a very robust appearance that closely matches its anime depiction. The ladder, which transforms into the Fire Sword, and the small arms hidden behind the shoulder armor can be swapped or removed to achieve a more playable and impressive pose.
Furthermore, the product can link with the first release, J-Decker, to recreate the even larger and more powerful robot "Fire J-Decker." Dedicated combination parts can be swapped for the head, arms, chest armor, and thighs, bringing its physique closer to its appearance in the show. Utilizing the shoulder joint mechanism allows it to avoid interference from the chest armor, recreating the two-handed sword-wielding pose for its special move, "Burning Fire Sword."
