The highly popular collector series "DC MULTIVERSE" from American toy manufacturer McFarlane Toys recently announced its latest product from the DC comic masterpiece "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns": the "Batman Blue Suit Battle Damage Version" (tentatively translated as Batman Battle Damage Blue) 7-inch action figure! It is scheduled for release in October 2024, with a suggested retail price of US$29.99.
"Batman: The Dark Knight Returns," written and illustrated by the renowned American comic artist Frank Miller, was published by DC Comics in 1986 and is widely regarded as one of Batman's most iconic comics. In the story, Batman retires from crime-fighting and disappears for over a decade due to the death of the second Robin. However, due to Gotham City's continuously rising crime rate, this hero, past his prime and with his physical condition long deteriorated, decides to return to action, teaming up with the new Robin, "Carrie Kelley," to fight against the Mutant Gang, Two-Face, The Joker, and other villains. Later, due to differing stances with Superman, he must face off against his nearly invincible old friend.
This figure stands approximately 17.7 cm tall, featuring 22 points of articulation throughout the body, creating a powerfully built Batman in a grey-blue Batsuit. From the masked head sculpt and the Bat-symbol on his chest, to his extremely robust torso and thighs, the figure perfectly captures the essence of Frank Miller's artwork. Coupled with the battle damage sculpted across the suit, it fully conveys Batman's struggle and constant injuries when facing formidable foes. Accessories include an unmasked head sculpt, a Batarang that can be held with both hands, a street lamp, interchangeable hands, a Collector Edition card, and a black circular base with the DC logo printed on it.
▼ The back of the packaging is also incredibly classic!
