Japanese toy brand ACADEMY PLASTIC MODEL, known for releasing numerous model kits, has once again partnered with model manufacturer WAVE. Following their previous "Iron Giant Galient", they are now releasing a new product based on the classic robot anime "Panzer World Galient" – the "Promaxis (Centaur Soldier)" 1/72 scale assembly model kit. The suggested retail price is 7,480 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in January 2025!
Premiering in 1984, "Panzer World Galient" is an SF robot TV anime series produced by Japanese animation studio SUNRISE. The story follows the night of Prince Jordy's birth in the Kingdom of Bordam, when the conqueror Marder attacks Bordam Castle. The King is killed, the Queen is captured, and the general Azbes escapes with the newborn Prince Jordy. Twelve years later, Jordy, now an excellent swordsman, rescues a young girl named Chillulu while searching for the legendary Iron Giant Galient with Azbes. He discovers she is the daughter of Dartas, the leader of the White Valley resistance against Marder's rule. Just as Marder is about to attack the White Valley, the Iron Giant Galient suddenly appears, protecting everyone.
The Promaxis first appeared in the first episode, piloted by Marder's soldiers, and was a common machine in Marder's army. This 1/72 scale Promaxis assembly model kit faithfully recreates its blue and white color scheme from the show through pre-colored parts. The inclusion of multiple articulated joints allows the quadrupedal machine to achieve a wide variety of dynamic poses, even stable leaping stances. Accessories include a spear, an axe, and a round shield, allowing you to recreate battle scenes from the series alongside Galient!
