US toy brand SUPER7's "Super Cyborg" series, which features removable body parts to reveal the character's internal structure, today (28th) announced a new release from "Creature from the Black Lagoon": the clear version of "Gill-man"! Pre-orders are now open on the SUPER7 official website, with an estimated shipping date of January 2025, priced at US$125.
Released in 1954, the black-and-white film "Creature from the Black Lagoon" is part of Universal Pictures' monster universe. The story describes an expedition team composed of geologists and ichthyologists traveling to the Amazon rainforest in South America, where they encounter a mysterious aquatic monster. This terrifying Gill-man creature becomes deeply attracted to Kay Lawrence, a beautiful woman in the expedition team, leading it to attack the team and attempt to abduct Lawrence.
Among the Super Cyborg series, which largely features mechanical characters, the Gill-man is a particularly interesting existence, as its interior reveals not complex mechanical pipelines but rather a biological structure akin to a human body. Following the earlier solid color version, this new clear version presents an even more eerie visual effect. The internal organs are primarily concentrated in the head, chest, abdomen, and the right forearm and hand. The color composition is bolder and more unrestrained than the previous work, complementing the transparent body perfectly. You can even see the skeletal remains of creatures eaten by the Gill-man inside its stomach.
▼ The transparent outer skin can be removed from three areas: the face, chest, and right forearm & hand, allowing you to deeply appreciate the mysterious charm of the Gill-man's interior.
▼ The packaging box also boasts an exceptional design.
