Following the Super Machinaga Dragon Version, TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., has once again announced the latest product from the 'Ganso SD Gundam World' model kit series, originating from 'SD Gundam Gaiden: Legend of the Machinagas'. The 'Machinaga Altair Super Machinaga True Awakening Set' is scheduled for release in April 2025. This product will be sold exclusively on BANDAI's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI.
In the story, before its demise, the technologically advanced Moon Kingdom created seven 'Machinagas', each boasting superior performance compared to modern mobile suits. These could combine into their true form, 'Super Machinaga GUNGENESIS', to unleash immense power. However, during the great war against the 'Evil of the Moon', one of them, 'Machinaga Altair', suffered irreversible damage and was later even transformed into the enemy unit 'Shadow Machinaga Chaos Gaia', preventing the true power of Super Machinaga from ever being fully realized. Nevertheless, the remaining six Machinagas, when combined, were still known as 'Super Machinaga' and possessed formidable combat capabilities. Piloted by the protagonist Moonlight Knight NEO Gundam, they wielded the golden greatsword 'GENESIS BLADE' to combat the source of the Evil of the Moon.
This product brings together Hiroyuki Okawa, the designer of the Machinaga series, and Layup Co., Ltd., responsible for developing the 'SD Gundam' series, to realize the lost seventh Machinaga Altair in three dimensions for the first time. The entire model utilizes multiple molded color parts and stickers to largely reproduce the design from the original card illustrations, further employing gold plating and clear parts to recreate the intricate coloring of the head's 'Noble Crown'. Its armament includes the 'Satellite Cannon', originally from Gundam DX, and the reflector-like wings on its back feature an unfolding mechanism.

Machinaga Altair also features a transformation and combination mechanism that links with the separately sold 'Super Machinaga Dragon Version'. After transforming, it can be mounted on the back of Super Machinaga, and uses 'Wings of Light effects' made from PET plastic sheets to recreate the Genesis Wings. It also includes PET-made blade effects for the weapon 'Genesis Blade', blade expansion parts, and more, to form the legendary true form, 'Super Machinaga GUNGENESIS (Final Form)'!
To provide even richer playability, this product also features an original model-exclusive combination mechanism, allowing Machinaga Altair to serve as an internal core, replacing its brother unit 'Machinaga Elgaia' for a 'Koukou Gattai' (radiant combination), forming a new Super Machinaga form never seen in the original work.
