The popular soft vinyl toy series "MOVIE MONSTER", released by Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced the latest product, "Godzilla (2001)", from "Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack", scheduled for release in September 2024.
The Godzilla appearing in this work is believed by scholars in the film to be an aggregation of vengeful spirits sacrificed during the Pacific War. It features a ferocious head sculpt and white eyes, and its hatred for humanity is so intense that it directly unleashes its atomic breath upon crowds. Its personality is also quite cruel and cunning; it remembers opponents' attack patterns, feigns being hooked, and seizes the opportunity to deliver a fatal blow. In the film, it successively battles three Guardian Monsters and the Japan Self-Defense Forces, sustaining only minor superficial injuries, making it one of the few "Gods of Destruction" Godzilla incarnations that instills despair.
The "MOVIE MONSTER Godzilla (2001)" is a modified version based on the old MOVIE MONSTER soft vinyl toy released after the 2001 movie's premiere. After reducing the original 21 cm size to 16 cm tall, it largely reproduces the styling of that era, replicating its characteristic emotionless, ferocious white eyes, full-body skin texture, and extremely thick foot sculpt. The protruding canine teeth inside its mouth, sharp claws, and grayish-white dorsal fins are expressed through paintwork.
