First Look: Timothée Chalamet Transforms for A24's "Marty Supreme" Biopic, 1950s Set Photos Revealed

A24's upcoming table tennis sports comedy-drama, "Marty Supreme," directed by Josh Safdie of "Uncut Gems" fame and starring Timothée Chalamet, has officially begun production. Following the exciting news that Gwyneth Paltrow would join the cast in her first film role since returning to acting, new set photos have emerged, confirming filming is underway.

"Marty Supreme" chronicles the life of Marty Mauser, a fictionalized character based on the legendary "Table Tennis Wizard" Marty Reisman, a singles champion active in the United States during the 1950s and 60s. Chalamet takes on the role of the titular table tennis player.

The newly released set photos showcase Chalamet in a distinctly different look, shedding his usual image. He appears with slicked-back hair, prominent metal-rimmed glasses, and dressed in a loose white 1950s-era shirt layered with a blue sweater vest, perfectly embodying the character of Marty Mauser.

Josh Safdie not only directs but also co-wrote the screenplay for "Marty Supreme" alongside Ronald Bronstein, his collaborator on the "Uncut Gems" script. The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Odessa A'zion, acclaimed director Abel Ferrara, and Grammy-winning rapper Tyler the Creator (Tyler Okonma).
