Beyond the upcoming DC animated series "Creature Commandos," set to stream in 2024, James Gunn's DC Studios has officially announced a collaboration with Warner Bros. Pictures Animation. This partnership will develop a new stop-motion animated film centered on DC Comics' Batman sidekick, Robin, with the title confirmed as "Dynamic Duo."
Reports indicate that the animated film "Dynamic Duo" will focus on the origin stories of the "first" Robin, Dick Grayson, and the "second" Robin, Jason Todd, both of whom were among the earliest to join Batman's ranks.

Matthew Aldrich, known for his work as a co-writer on "Lightyear" and "Coco," is penning the script for this project. Animation duties will be handled by Swaybox Studios, a new animation studio based in New Orleans. DC Studios CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran are set to produce the animated feature.
Swaybox Studios has previously developed animated works that blend CGI with stop-motion, a hybrid technique they term "Momo animation." This approach results in remarkably vivid visuals and a more humanized artistic expression in animation.
It's important to note that this newly announced DC animated film, "Dynamic Duo," is entirely unrelated to 2022's "The Batman" or the currently airing spin-off series "The Penguin."
