Sam Raimi's New Horror Thriller "Send Help" Eyes Rachel McAdams for "Doctor Strange" Reunion

Back in July, Sam Raimi, the acclaimed director behind the "Evil Dead" and "Spider-Man" franchises, announced his collaboration with 20th Century Studios to helm a new horror thriller titled "Send Help." Now, the first casting news for the project has emerged.

According to The InSneider, Rachel McAdams is currently in talks to join the film, potentially reuniting with the horror maestro after their collaboration on "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness." Deadline also confirmed the news, though sources emphasized that discussions are still in the early stages.

Sources indicate that "Send Help" is a two-hander psychological thriller set on a remote island, described as a blend of Stephen King's 1990 novel adaptation "Misery" and the 2000 survival drama "Cast Away."

The screenplay for "Send Help" was penned by Mark Swift and Damian Shannon, the writing duo behind "Baywatch." Raimi will co-produce the film alongside Zainab Azizi from his production company.
