Following Disney's D23 Expo reveal of the first trailer for the live-action "Lilo & Stitch" film, slated for a 2025 release, the studio has now officially locked in the exact premiere date for the highly anticipated movie. Additionally, the release date for the "Freaky Friday" sequel, a beloved comedy returning to the big screen after 22 years, has also been confirmed.

Reports indicate that the live-action "Lilo & Stitch" is set to hit North American theaters on May 23, 2025. This places it in direct competition with "Mission: Impossible 8," which is also scheduled for release on the same day. Meanwhile, "Freakier Friday," the sequel to "Freaky Friday" starring returning leads Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, is slated for an August 8, 2025, North American debut.
Dean Fleischer Camp, known for directing "Marcel the Shell with Shoes On," helms "Lilo & Stitch." Chris Sanders, who directed the original "Lilo & Stitch" animated film, returns to lend his voice to Stitch.
For "Freakier Friday," in addition to Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, other beloved cast members reprising their roles include Chad Michael Murray, Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao.
