Robert Downey Jr. returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe stage as the classic villain "Doctor Doom," who will not only be a major focus in the upcoming Phase Six, but a major Marvel Universe event centered on Doctor Doom titled "The Rise of Emperor Doom" was also announced at the recent New York Comic Con, detailing his ambitions after taking over as Sorcerer Supreme.

The story of the Marvel Universe event "The Rise of Emperor Doom" is written by Ryan North from "Fantastic Four," continuing from this year's major event "Blood Hunt," where Doctor Doom seized the title of "Sorcerer Supreme" from Doctor Strange. His next step is to implement even greater ambitions, attempting to use all forms of media on Earth to further seize control over the planet, declaring himself the "World Emperor." Even though this forces the heroes to respond to this threat, some people gradually start to resonate with his ideas.
In addition to Ryan North, the art for "The Rise of Emperor Doom" is handled by R.B. Silva, the artist of "Rise of the Powers of X" for the interior pages, while the cover is by Ben Harvey. This Marvel Universe event is a five-issue limited series.

Notably, the appearance of Doctor Doom has been linked by foreign media to his upcoming portrayal in the Marvel Universe. However, it remains to be seen how Robert Downey Jr. will don the green cloak in the films.
