Following the Michael Jackson biopic "Michael" shifting its release from April 2025 to October 3, 2025, Warner Bros. Discovery has seized the opportunity to push back the release of Bong Joon-ho's sci-fi thriller "Mickey 17," starring Robert Pattinson.

Reports indicate that Warner Bros. Discovery moved "Mickey 17" from its previously scheduled January 31, 2025 slot to April 18, 2025. This slate reshuffle also allowed the studio to fill the vacated January 31 slot with Drew Hancock's "Companion," which will now debut globally in IMAX theaters on that date, shifting from its original January 10, 2025 release.
This isn't the first delay for "Mickey 17." When the film was first announced in 2022, it was slated for a March 29, 2024 release. Warner Bros. then pushed it back, announcing a January 31, 2025 date in February 2024. Now, spurred by the "Michael" biopic's shift, the studio has seized the Easter holiday window for its newly announced release.

"Mickey 17" is an adaptation of Edward Ashton's 2022 novel "Mickey7." In addition to Robert Pattinson, the film features a star-studded cast including Mark Ruffalo, Toni Collette, Naomi Ackie, and Steven Yeun.
