Published by the HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., the "RG (Real Grade)" Gunpla series, which incorporates exterior armor, internal frames, interlocking armor, and new technologies into the 1/144 scale, has announced the latest product from "Mobile Fighter G Gundam," the "RG 1/144 Shining Gundam," slated for release in April 2025.
The GF13-017NJ Shining Gundam is the mobile fighter used by protagonist Domon Kasshu to represent Neo Japan in the 13th Gundam Fight. It features a design that prioritizes mobility while being well-balanced in both offense and defense. Utilizing heat dissipation, deployment, and interlocking mechanisms throughout its body, it can fully unleash Domon's "School of the Undefeated of the East" martial arts. This mobile suit also possesses the ability to react to its pilot's emotions; when Domon's anger reaches a certain level, the Shining Gundam enters the even more powerful "Super Mode."
The "RG 1/144 Shining Gundam" continues the series' pursuit of realistic aesthetics and articulation mechanisms. It utilizes precisely designed multi-color molded parts to assemble a highly detailed mobile suit. Furthermore, it leverages the articulated frame design previously used for the "God Gundam," allowing for human-like movements such as high kicks and agile sword-slashing poses, thanks to its three-axis movable neck joint and swing mechanisms.
Another major feature of the kit is its ability to transform directly into "Super Mode" without the need for swapping parts. Through the armor deployment mechanisms in various areas such as the head, shoulder armor, wrists, and legs, it can recreate the classic Super Mode state with the head visor deployed, revealing the internal heat dissipation devices and thrusters. Using the various hand effect parts and beam saber effect parts included, you can recreate a variety of cool martial arts poses and unleash its special move, the "Shining Finger!"
