BANDAI SPIRITS’ TAMASHII NATIONS collectibles division has announced the latest release in its popular METAL BUILD die-cast figure line: the "Aile Strike Gundam -THE GUNDAM BASE LIMITED-" from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED." Scheduled for release in November 2026, the figure will initially be available in Japan at four locations: THE GUNDAM BASE TOKYO, SHIBUYA, FUKUOKA, and ANNEX in NEW CHITOSE AIRPORT.
The hero mobile suit of "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED," the GAT-X105 Strike Gundam was the last of the Earth Alliance’s five G Project mobile suits to be completed. Its lightweight armor gives it exceptional, humanlike mobility, though the design relies heavily on Phase Shift armor for protection. Thanks to the Striker Pack System, the Strike Gundam can switch between configurations such as Aile Strike, Sword Strike, and Launcher Strike, allowing a single mobile suit to tackle a wide range of missions and battlefield conditions.
The "METAL BUILD Aile Strike Gundam -THE GUNDAM BASE LIMITED-" is based on the previously released standard edition, now completely redecoed in the blue-and-white colors of the THE GUNDAM BASE logo. Gunmetal die-cast components are layered with white, dark gray, and deep blue armor to emphasize the machine’s weighty metallic presence. Bright blue highlights appear across the shield, wings, forehead, and other sections, while orange accents on the shoulder armor, ankle armor, and wingtips give the design a lighter, more dynamic look.
The figure’s sculpt was supervised by "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" Chief Mechanical Animation Director Satoshi Shigeta. Along with the METAL BUILD line’s signature high-density original detailing, the design retains an impressive range of articulation. Plated die-cast components form the exposed inner frame, while the armor delivers the hard-edged contours and substantial feel of a true weapon of war. The Aile Striker was reinterpreted by "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" mechanical designer Kunio Ohkawara, adding even more intricate detail. New articulation points in the wings and thrusters allow the Strike Gundam to create expressive, action-heavy displays with its backpack wings, much like its successor, the Freedom Gundam.
