BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division in Japan is set to release its latest product from the theatrical anime film Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, the "HG 1/144 Destiny Gundam SpecⅡ & Zeus Silhouette", on November 23, 2024. Ahead of its release, official new information including the product box art design and actual sample images have been unveiled.
The ZGMF/A-42S2 Destiny Gundam SpecⅡ, also piloted by Shin Asuka, is a new mobile suit secretly recovered by the Archangel after the previous great war, then repaired and improved by Morgenroete with the latest technology. In addition to adopting a cutting-edge all-around cockpit and replacing joint armor materials, its power system has been significantly upgraded. The substantial increase in energy has also resulted in a deeper color for its VPS armor. Its armament remains largely unchanged, but it can now equip the brand-new enhanced armament, the "A-GXQ754/V2 Zeus Silhouette", which utilizes an extremely massive railgun of immense size and power.
The Destiny Gundam SpecⅡ main unit is based on the Destiny Gundam released in 2019, utilizing new molding colors to reproduce the deeper hues of its enhanced VPS armor. It boasts a refined, cool design and excellent articulation, with flexible joints in the shoulders, torso, and hip. It comes equipped with a beam rifle, shield, beam boomerangs, the "Arondight" Beam Sword, and a High-Energy Long-Range Beam Cannon, along with luxurious effect parts such as the Palma Fiocina, Beam Shield, and Wings of Light, allowing for dynamic recreation of its cool battle poses from the show.
The Zeus Silhouette, constructed with entirely new parts, can be assembled independently into an MA (Mobile Armor) form measuring over 50 cm in length for display. When disassembled, it can be combined with the Destiny Gundam SpecⅡ using dedicated parts to perfectly recreate its various added armor sections, large thrusters on both legs, the "Super-Large Railgun" which is approximately twice the length of the main unit, and the three spare railgun barrels suspended on its back. Multiple missile hatches on the back and legs feature deployment mechanisms, and internal warhead details can also be reproduced by swapping parts.
