Following reports that Anne Hathaway is set to reunite with acclaimed Hollywood director Christopher Nolan for an undisclosed new project, the Oscar winner is now taking on another major role, starring in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel "Verity." Hathaway will also reunite with Michael Showalter, who directed her in the hit romantic comedy "The Idea of You."
"Verity," a psychological thriller published in 2018, centers on Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer hired by Jeremy Crawford to complete his wife Verity's bestselling book series. Verity, a renowned author, was left unable to write after a severe car accident.
While staying at the Crawford family home to sort through Verity's notes, Lowen uncovers an unfinished, disturbing manuscript that reveals unsettling details about Verity's past and dark family secrets. This discovery leads Lowen to question whether Verity is a brilliant novelist or a dangerously deranged individual.
Anne Hathaway is confirmed to play Verity Crawford. While other cast members have not yet been announced, the screenplay is being penned by Nick Antosca, known for his work on the true-crime series "Candy."
