A24 has just dropped the first trailer for its upcoming fantasy comedy, "Death Of A Unicorn." The film boasts a star-studded cast, featuring Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega as a father-daughter duo, alongside Téa Leoni, Will Poulter, Jessica Hynes, Sunita Mani, Anthony Carrigan, and Richard E. Grant.

"Death Of A Unicorn" marks the feature directorial and screenwriting debut of Alex Scharfman. The story follows Riley and her father, Elliot, who accidentally hit a unicorn on the road. They bring the injured creature to a remote villa, the home of a pharmaceutical CEO they were already planning to visit. Elliot initially tries to keep the unicorn's presence a secret from the CEO, but the truth eventually comes out.
Upon learning of the discovery, the CEO immediately tasks his team with studying the unicorn. They quickly uncover that the creature's genes hold the key to curing cancer and even developing an elixir of immortality. However, the pharmaceutical company's ambition to exploit the unicorn as a cash cow soon leads to deadly consequences: the unicorn they struck was merely a baby, and its enraged parents are now on the hunt, seeking bloody revenge. The film is slated for a spring release next year.
