Aaron Taylor-Johnson, fresh off his role in the upcoming Marvel superhero film "Kraven the Hunter," has long been a fan-favorite and heavily rumored contender for the next James Bond. Media reports frequently suggested he was a top choice for Eon Productions, the company behind the iconic 007 franchise, and had even engaged in discussions with them. However, recent reports indicate Taylor-Johnson has now withdrawn from the Bond race, with the reason reportedly tied to "Kraven the Hunter."

Veteran American film critic and entertainment reporter Jeff Sneider recently revealed on his personal blog, "The Insneider," that Taylor-Johnson is no longer in contention for the coveted Bond role, asserting that another actor will ultimately take on the part. According to Sneider, part of the reason for Taylor-Johnson's exit is Eon's concern over the "disappointing box office performance" of "Kraven the Hunter". Eon reportedly felt that Taylor-Johnson's star power didn't significantly boost audience interest or attendance, leading them to question his box office appeal and whether he possesses the necessary drawing power to lead the Bond franchise.
