Following the release of the action figure, Solgen Armor, and Moongen Armor for Ultraman Arc, the sixth installment in the Reiwa-era Ultraman series, the TAMASHII NATIONS collectible toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS, under its S.H.Figuarts action figure brand, announced its latest product yesterday (19th): the "Galaxy Armor" (ギャラクシーアーマー)! It is scheduled for release in June 2025, with a suggested retail price of 7,000 JPY.
Since K-DAY (Kaiju Day) 16 years ago, when monsters simultaneously appeared across the globe, kaiju disasters have become a part of daily life. In Japan, in addition to the "Earth Defense Force" which subdues monsters with military might, there is also "SKIP," the Scientific Kaiju Investigation and Prevention institute, dedicated to preventing and mitigating kaiju disasters. The protagonist of this series, Yuma Hishiki, is a new member of SKIP with extensive knowledge of monsters. While SKIP was investigating the cosmic parasitic organism "Utsu" found in a monster's horn, they were suddenly attacked by a kaiju. In the nick of time, Yuma connected with "Lution (ルティオン)," a messenger of light from a distant galaxy, transforming into a mysterious giant who protects humanity!
The Galaxy Armor is a new form that appeared in episode 15 of "Ultraman Arc," titled "Wandering Future." It was born when both Yuma and Arc unleashed their imaginations, absorbing the explosive energy of the mysterious substance "Onyx," which has properties similar to a black hole, resulting in a purple armor resembling a galaxy. Unlike the Solgen and Moongen Armors, which focus on the upper body, the Galaxy Armor covers the chest, shoulders, and arms, as well as the calves. This armor is also equipped with four Arc Feathers (アークフェザー). The Arc Feathers can not only float in the air and attack enemies, but also transform into Arc Feather Rings capable of spatial transfer, or combine into the Arc Galaxer (アークギャラクサー).
The "S.H.Figuarts Galaxy Armor" product content does not include the Ultraman Arc main body; rather, it consists of armor parts that can be attached to it. This product, created in cooperation with Tsuburaya Productions' LSS modeling department, truly brings to life the incredibly magical and vibrant armor from the show. Both the sharp, mineral-like lines and the gradient color expression are superb! It includes interchangeable hand parts, Galaxy Armor blocks, Arc Feathers, and the Arc Galaxer. When combined with a separately sold stand, you can recreate Arc's valiant battle poses! It would be even more perfect with a portal effect.
