If you're into [[OBJ_7472]]s, chances are you've at least heard of the "D.C. ~Da Capo~" series. Originally released in June 2002 by Japanese bishojo game brand CIRCUS, this romance adventure game holds a truly classic spot in many hearts.
Yesterday (January 13), Bushiroad dropped a bombshell announcement at their "Bushiroad New Year's Grand Presentation 2025": the game is getting a full-blown remake! Titled "D.C. Re:tune ~Da Capo~ Re:tune," the release date is still under wraps.
The original "D.C. ~Da Capo~," an adult Galgame released by CIRCUS in 2002, is set on Hatsunejima (First Island), famous for its ever-blooming cherry blossoms. It tells the story of protagonist Jun'ichi Asakura and his interactions with various heroines. As the first installment in the series, it spawned numerous adaptations, including games, anime, manga, and novels.
What's particularly exciting this time is the completely refreshed voice cast, featuring:
Nemu Asakura (from Sakura Nogawa to Kaede Hondo)
Sakura Yoshino (from Yukari Tamura to Chiharu)
Kotori Shirakawa (from Yui Horie to Kana Ichinose)
(Note: The original voice actors listed here were for the anime adaptation.)
Additionally, the art direction has been updated from Naru Nanao to Natsuki Tanihara, known for "D.C. ~Da Capo~ III." Long-time fans will definitely spot the differences!
This remake is being handled by the original development team at CIRCUS, also serving as a special project for CIRCUS's 25th anniversary. It boasts brand-new character designs, a fresh voice cast, and even introduces a new female character named "Fuki," offering veteran players a chance to relive that classic romance with a new twist.
