Bandai's GASHAPON division, under its popular "Machibouke" (Waiting) series, will release a new product based on the popular anime "The Apothecary Diaries" — the "Waiting Impatiently: The Apothecary Diaries" Gashapon. The suggested retail price is 400 JPY per capsule, and it is scheduled for release in late May 2025!
"The Apothecary Diaries" is a light novel series written by Japanese author Natsu Hyuuga. In 2023, it was adapted into a TV anime by TOHO animation STUDIO and OLM. It tells the story of Maomao, a young girl from the pleasure district who is skilled in deduction and knowledgeable about pharmacology. By chance, she is abducted and sold to the inner palace as a low-ranking servant. The story follows her as she gradually establishes influence within the scheming court!
This "Waiting Impatiently: The Apothecary Diaries" Gashapon transforms several popular characters from the series into small figures, approximately 4 cm tall. They are designed with the series' signature sitting-and-waiting pose. The lineup includes five types: Maomao, Jinshi, Gyokuyou, Xiaolan, and Suirei. Sculpted in an approximately 2-head-tall proportion, the figures faithfully recreate the characters' costumes, hairstyles, and other stylistic details. Lined up together in their waiting poses, they look incredibly adorable!
